It has been a tumultuous 21 months but ladies and gentlemen, we did it! As I the news came in declaring Obama as winner, I was mystified, elated, and proud. Over the past eight years, my faith in my country and my fellow Americans plummeted (and it wasn't that high to begin with). Tonight, however, there was a glimmer of hope. On this momentous day, we took a stand against apathy by reclaiming the importance of each vote; we made history by electing into office the first black president. I am so grateful for this change of pace and truly feel proud to be an American.
